Are you experienced in planning large scale events to include city-wide special events, programs, festivals, concerts, grand openings and/or other events? Hampton's Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Department has an exciting new opportunity for a Special Events Supervisor and would like for YOU to apply! In this role, you'll collaborate closely with City leaders, elected officials, public safety officials, and community organizations in the delivery and coordination of special events, while also partnering with the department and city-wide marketing teams to promote events.
The purpose of this position is to develop and execute special events of varying size and scale for the City. Responsible for administration of the City's special event permitting process, and requires coordination and interaction with City departments, outside agencies, and vendors. This class works under general supervision of the Recreation Administrator, independently developing work methods and sequences. Provides supervision for Special Event Coordinators, event personnel and volunteers.
