Activity Center Leader

Your Role

The Activity Center Leader–will support the implementation of Youth Opportunities office initiatives which includes Community Outreach activities and events including, but not limited to the following functions:

rovide support to full-time Recreation Specialist I & Site Lead in the supervision of summer youth employment workers, volunteers, and interns working the Parks After Dark Program to include: set-up, programs and activities, customer inquiries and site clean-up.

rovide onsite support to the arrival, set-up and program execution of all vendors, partnering stakeholders and planned activities at Parks After Dark

Lead Part Time Staff in planning and implementing programs and activities that demonstrate a comprehensive and current understanding of issues, contributors to positive youth outcomes and quality of life concerns in Virginia Beach communities

Operate vehicles to provide transportation for participants to special events or programs

Assist with the maintenance of program supplies and inventory during Parks After Dark Program

 Assist with the investigation of accidents and incidents; follow protocol for reporting and documenting

Assist the Recreation Specialist I in collecting data on program trends and participant outcomes; prepare and submit these and other reports as required.

Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.
