Facilities/Groundskeeper I

Facilities/Groundskeeper I: Performs various unskilled and semiskilled manual labor tasks to maintain parks, grounds, trails, athletic and recreation facilities.
Examples of Duties
• Maintains ball fields and parks.
• Performs minor building/facility maintenance and repairs.
• Addresses public inquiries.
• Ensures the facilities are clean and available for use.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
• High School diploma or equivalent with at least (3) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• General knowledge of grounds or building maintenance.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting, and operate vehicles and light to heavy equipment.
• Possess a valid Virginia driver's license.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
The work requires physical exertion such as walking over rough or difficult terrain; recurring standing, stooping, climbing or walking; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items weighing between 25 and 75 pounds and may require the occasional lifting of objects weighing in excess of 74 pounds. The work may require specific physical characteristic and abilities such as heightened strength, mobility, and dexterity.
The work environment involves high risks with exposure to potentially dangerous situations or unusual environmental stress that require a range of safety and other precautions.
