Assists with facilitating a variety of summer programs for children ages 3-17.
Examples of Duties
Involved in a variety of summer camp programs and special activities with children ages 3-17.
Leads a variety of physical activities, games, and craft projects while maintaining a safe and fun environment.
Monitor games, activities and trips to ensure safety of patrons. Enforces discipline, policies and procedures, and proper use of equipment.
Serves as a role model and promotes positive behaviors and attitudes while maintaining constructive relationships with participants and colleagues.
Assists with Summer Food Service Program meal preparation and service.
Prepares program materials, assists with room setup and cleanup, and secures equipment.
Maintains facility cleanliness and assists with custodial duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Experience working with youth, at least six months, preferred
Knowledge:
General knowledge physical activity, group games, and arts and crafts.
General knowledge of programs and activities appropriate for ages 3-17.
Skills:
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively.
Ability to work successfully in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships.
Ability to enter, stand, and move in a pool or lake.

Work Environment:
Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Worker is exposed to temperature changes, noise, odors, dust and strenuous physical activity.
