Summer Camp Inclusion Specialist

General Statement of Duties

Plans and supervises general recreation programs or assists in the development and administration of a specialized recreation program on a County-wide basis; does related work as required.

Essential Duties

• The employee must have strong knowledge of the philosophy and objectives of community recreation, specifically of recreation programming
• Exceptional leadership, supervisory and problem solving skills required
• Knowledge and hands on experience with children in a variety of settings
• Must have the ability to work on own initiative without close supervision or guidance
• Good organizational skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Leads, teaches, and oversees staff working with participants with disabilities
• Creates individual program modification plans for participants and reviews instructor modification logs
• Maintains and regulates up-to-date medication paperwork for participants
• Establishes and maintains communication with participants, parents, camp staff, and administration
• Responds to inquiries and/or complaints and will complete required inclusion services documentation

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a bachelor's degree in recreation or a field directly related to the needs of the assigned position, and one (1) year of related work experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

The operating hours for this position will be 7:30am - 5:00pm. Shifts will be scheduled during this time.

The hourly salary rate for this position is $20.79/hour.
