Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time Crew Chief Schools. The Crew Chief Schools will manage Infields across all county schools. Under the supervision of the appointed manager, this role is responsible for coordinating daily operations that facilitate the implementation of the County's preventive maintenance program. The responsibilities associated with this position include performing safety inspections for buildings, vehicles, equipment, and tools; managing customer service operations; maintaining staff schedules; ensuring the completion of routine and corrective maintenance both indoors and outdoors; overseeing daily cash transactions; and coordinating tasks assigned to contractors. The Crew Chief Schools is tasked with supervising the assigned personnel, which encompasses staff, volunteers, and seasonal workers, in addition to overseeing commercial contract workers.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Conducts maintenance activities, repairs, and work orders.
• Performs preventive maintenance activities on vehicles, equipment, machinery, and tools.
• Prepares the fields to ensure optimal conditions for games; conducts maintenance on the grounds and structures, including debris removal and trash disposal, in accordance with game and tournament schedules.
• Keeps records and generates reports regarding the maintenance of fields, playgrounds, and facilities.
• Oversees maintenance technicians in their tasks and projects; allocates and evaluates work until completion; and supervises complex or atypical emergency assignments.
• May carry out additional critical job responsibilities pertinent to the specific role and departmental assignment.

High school diploma or equivalent; preferably with coursework in building trades or grounds maintenance; four (4) years of related work experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, building trades, inclusive of one (1) year of supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must undergo criminal, credit and DMV background checks. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Annual reviews of driving records may be conducted to ensure ongoing qualification. First Aid/CPR certifications within 30 days of hire; OSHA certifications including forklift, bucket truck, and lift truck are required within department timeframes. County supervisory, and e-learning trainings as required.
