Recreation Specialist – Youth Programs and Camps

The City of Manassas Park is seeking a Recreation Specialist – Youth Programs and Camps, working under the general supervision of the Senior Recreation Specialist. This position is responsible for the planning, development, administration, supervision, and evaluation of the recreational programs and activities within the City’s youth programs and youth camps. The position supervises part-time/seasonal personnel and contracted vendors. The work environment is primarily indoors, but some outdoor exposure is required. The position is responsible for staff supervision, activity/program planning, scheduling and monitoring, supplies and equipment procurement, training, and reporting. This is a classroom-based position; however, time will be allotted each day for administrative tasks and duties. In addition to youth programs and camps, this position may be required to support different segments of the Recreation Services Division on an as-needed basis.
