Performs basic skilled human support work, coordinating a variety of recreation programs and related work as required. Work is performed under the supervision of the Recreation Director. Full supervision is exercised over part-time workers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, and ABILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Associates/Technical degree in Recreation Administration or a related field, supplemented by a minimum of two years of experience in Parks and Recreation, or at least five years of supervisory experience in community recreation programs; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; the worker is frequently standing, walking, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, tasting or smelling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has no special vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office with typewriters and/or computer printers, light traffic).
