The Aquatics Operations Specialist performs responsible routine work coordinating, planning, implementing, and evaluating city aquatic operations at various outdoor and indoor aquatic facilities. Assists with managing  lifeguards and overseeing front desk staff. Ensures tracking of required certifications and monitors/supervises the work of subordinate staff. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Aquatic Operations Manager.

The preferred hiring range for this position is between $25.06 - $30.17 an hour ($52,644.80 - $63,377.60 Annually). Starting offer is based on applicable education, experience, and internal equity. Education and Experience: Candidates may qualify by demonstrating the required knowledge and skills outlined for the job through experience(s) other than formal education.

  • Bachelor’s degree in recreation, park management, physical education, hospitality, therapeutic recreation or closely related field, AND 1 year of responsible experience in an aquatic or recreation environment.
OR
  • Associate degree (or some college level coursework) in recreation, park management, physical education, hospitality, therapeutic recreation or closely related field, AND 3 years of responsible experience in an aquatic or recreation environment.
OR
  • High School diploma or GED AND 5 years of responsible experience in an aquatic or recreation environment.
