Your Role
The ARC LGI/WSI duties will include but not be limited to:
Individual will provide a safe swimming environment
Provide customer service and enforce rules
Administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation
Instruct all levels of American Red Cross Water Safety Programs in accordance with American Red Cross and department standards
Perform other job duties requiring skills, knowledge and physical requirements as demanded by those duties described or less. Individual assignments will be determined by the supervisor based on the current workloads and department needs.
MINIMUMS: Must be at least 16 years old. Requires possession of a current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification to instruct preschool, adult, and American Red Cross aquatic programs; or must possess valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification to teach ARC Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR/AED/O2; or must possess valid certification or experience appropriate to the specialized program area, i.e., competitive swimming, diving, or specialized aquatic instruction. Must obtain American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED within 30 days of employment. Must satisfactorily complete a departmental skills test prior to employment. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work rotating shifts (days/evenings/midnights) including weekends and holidays and be available to work overtime when required to meet operational needs.
