Job Summary

Loudoun County's Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Services is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Manager on Duty. The Manager on Duty will ensure comprehensive supervision of the center and its daily operational functions. This role is tasked with the management of facility personnel, which involves facilitating the recruitment, hiring, training, and supervision of staff functions. In addition, it includes the facilitation and involvement in activities related to facility maintenance or the organization of such efforts. The position also entails overseeing and coordinating the setup and dismantling of programs and special events organized by designated staff. Furthermore, it requires the use of suitable automated systems to generate and manage reports, inventories, rental requests, and cash handling or payment processes.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):
• Claude Moore Recreation & Community Center, Sterling, VA

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Manages and oversees the utilization of the center and the designated staff, as required and assigned.
• Oversees the upkeep of the recreation center or specified facility.
• Facilitates support for customers and visitors at the recreation center.
• Assists with the configuration of center space in conjunction with the applicable programming staff and/or according to the requirements of special events.
• Oversees and coordinates vendor contracts associated with the center for the acquisition of services, materials, and equipment.
• Additional critical job responsibilities may be undertaken that are specific to the role and departmental assignment.

Salary is commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; one (1) year of related experience in parks, recreation, or facility management with at least six (6) months experience in task supervision, team lead, or formal supervisory capacity; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Recreation or Leisure Studies or a related field and one (1) year of experience in customer service and/or manager on duty, including staff supervision.
• One (1) year of experience working in a recreation or community center setting.
• Bilingual

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo criminal, credit, DMV, and Child Protective Services (CPS) background checks. Driver's license must be valid, and driver's record must be good. Driver records may undergo an annual review to confirm their eligibility.

*The work schedule may be adjusted following operational hours and will primarily include weekday evenings and weekends to fulfill business needs and address peak facility usage.
