What You'll Be Doing

This is supervisory and administrative work supervising staff, planning and developing events for all age groups in the Town of Leesburg.  Work involves responsibility for fiscal management; staff supervision; program and activity planning; special event coordination, administrative and personnel functions; safety inspections; and event promotion.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in recreation management, recreation and leisure, event management or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two years of progressively responsible work in event management or the recreational field. CPR and Standard First Aid certifications, or ability to obtain within three months of employment. Possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s Degree in recreation management or related field. Over two years of experience in community event management in a governmental setting. Certification as a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP). Bilingual in English/Spanish.
