We are seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and strategic person to lead and implement initiatives that enhance the performance of our organization's human capital. This role requires providing strategic leadership and direction to staff and managers on complex workforce challenges while driving initiatives to foster organizational effectiveness and employee engagement.
Reports to the division director for administration with broad directions from the Park Authority’s executive director and deputy directors. Exercises considerable judgment and operates with a high degree of autonomy to troubleshoot and solve complex issues and apply systemic solutions to address human capital business needs. Serves as a trusted advisor to leadership, managers, and employees. Ensures compliance with legal and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of collaboration and innovation.
Provides strategic leadership across all HR functions, ensuring the effective management of workforce planning, recruitment, labor relations, employee relations, classification and compensation, training and development, payroll administration, and safety and risk management. Leads a team of HR professionals, making data driven decisions while offering guidance and professional development to strengthen HR service delivery. By collaborating closely with senior leadership, aligns HR initiatives with the Fairfax County Park Authority's mission and business objectives to drive overall organizational success.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in human resource management, public administration, or a related field; Plus, five years of professional-level human resources experience including two years in a supervisory capacity.
