Warren County is seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates to fill the position of Program Coordinator. This is a full-time position, located in the Parks and Recreation Department.

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, and supervising program activities, staff and events for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Other duties include ensures programs are kept on schedule, within the stated budgets, and function smoothly, support program growth and developments, coordinate program communication, manage staff work assignments, workload and work schedules, administers and oversees fundraising operations for programs as well as community outreach. This position will also coordinate interactions and relationships between staff, clients, administrators, and all other program stakeholders, schedule and organize program related meetings and events, create and maintain program records, reports, results, presentations and proposals, manage marketing and communications. This position will also participate in developing short-term and long-term goals, operating objectives and strategies, and makes recommendations for improvement in service delivery and scheduling of programs and services offered to maximize revenue and patron satisfaction. This position requires attendance at the quarterly Recreation Commission meeting, and must be available to work evenings and weekends, some On-Call days.  

Any combination of education equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in Recreation Administration or related field or considerable experience in the supervision of recreation or community facility programs and staff is required.

Special requirements include the possession of an appropriate driver’s license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia, possession of First Aid, CPR, AED, and Serve Safe certifications, preference of American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and ARC Lifeguard Instructor certifications.

The starting salary is $50,980.80, depending on qualifications and experience.
