Athletics and Facilities Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Schedules and coordinates various leagues and other activities
• Administers athletic programs, camps, and special events
• Coordinates background checks on volunteers
• Markets athletic programs, camps, special events, and rentals through the Activities Guide, flyers, City of Winchester website, and television interviews
• Assists with scheduling of the athletic facilities
• Supervise part-time staff, volunteers, and vendors
• Coordinates the efforts of the athletic division with the other divisions within the Parks & Recreation Department to ensure that goals are achieved
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of indoor and outdoor community sports and athletic administration
• Schedules and coordinates various leagues and other activities. Candidate must possess the ability to develop league schedules and tournament brackets
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• An associate's degree in Parks and Recreation, Health and Physical Education, Sports Management or a related field is required
• Some related experience, including supervision of personnel, game officiating, and computer experience
• Valid driver's license required
• Must have Child and Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certification or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire
• Ability to become a Certified Youth Sports Administrator within two (2) years of employment (National Alliance for Youth Sports).
