With more than 25,000 acres of parkland, nine Rec Centers, eight golf courses, three lakefront parks, and more, FCPA is an exciting organization to be a part of and there are many opportunities for staff to make a difference at every level. The newly renovated Mount Vernon Rec Center will be an exciting new opportunity to plan and open a new rec center, with 6 recreation classrooms, two ice rinks and all new facilities.
 
Under the supervision of the Rec Center Manager and Section Managers, this position plans and implements financially self-sustaining recreational programs including classes, day camps and events at the Rec Center, nearby public schools, and parks. Through in-house and vendor-provided programs, they work collaboratively with agency staff, community groups, schools, and private businesses to offer a wide variety of program opportunities for customers of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Prepares quarterly program schedule of classes, day camps and events based on customer demand and trends. Loads scheduling data into the registration system and completes tasks associated with program management. Processes class and camp registrations and refunds. Prepares promotional materials for site programs. Recruits, trains, supervises, and schedules staff and volunteers. Completes and reviews purchase requisitions, processes, and approves invoices and manages procurement cards according to county procedures. Evaluates program participation levels, profitability and cancelation rates and makes program adjustments to improve performance. Develops, manages, and promotes special events for the site and agency. Works within allotted budget to achieve required cost recovery goals. Ensures compliance with federal, state and county safety and health standards and agency standard operational procedures. Participates as a member of the recreation programs team and agency teams as required. Expected to work varied work shifts including weekends, evenings, holidays, and early morning hours and serves as manager on duty.
