Maintenance Ranger

Part-time
Salary: $14.00 Hourly

This position will be responsible for, but not limited to: Routine mowing, weed eating, trash pickup, trail work, equipment maintenance, light construction, and custodial tasks such as cleaning bathrooms and cabins as necessary.
Operating a variety of hand tools to include, but not limited to, hammers; hand saws; hand pruners; loppers; shovel; sledge hammer; pick; mattock and axes.
Operating power hand tools to include, but not limited to, a weed eater, pressure washer, blower, paint sprayer, circular saw; reciprocating saw; drills of various types;
Operating specialized equipment including UTVs, tractors, mowers, etc.
Performing routine maintenance on all equipment used.
Interacting with the public to include answering questions and providing excellent customer service.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Basic hand tool, hand power tool, equipment familiarity and operation are required.
  • Please refer to the list of equipment to see if you meet this expectation.
  • Experience in the field of park maintenance/operations, recreation, forestry, trails, landscaping, construction or agriculture is preferred.
  • *Please provide any certifications relating to your experience at the time of application.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Weekly hours and contract period are flexible and subject to change.
  • Applicants must have a valid driver’s license.

Additional Considerations:

Experience in the following areas is preferred: lawn maintenance, plumbing, electrical repair, construction, facility/equipment/vehicle maintenance, and repair. Knowledge of and ability to operate tractors, commercial mowing equipment, chainsaw equipment, power tools, hand tools, etc., is preferred.

Special Requirements:

A valid State Driver's License is required to operate a state vehicle or if operating a personal vehicle while conducting business on behalf of the agency.
